Radon is a radioactive gas that has been found in homes all over the United States. Radon comes from the natural breakdown of uranium in soil, rock and water and gets into the air you breathe. Cracks and other holes in the foundation of buildings can allow radon gas into your home. Any home can have a radon problem. This includes, but is not limited to: new homes, old homes, energy efficient homes, drafty homes and homes with or without basements. In fact, one out of every 15 homes in the Untied States is estimated to have an elevated radon level.

Radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the United States . The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Surgeon General strongly recommend that all homes be tested and that further action be taken when the homes radon test results are 4.0pCi/l or greater.
